Welcome to scouting.

Boy Scouting is for all boys who are 11, or are at least 10 years old and have completed the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, through 17 years old. Boys experience a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster to achieve the BSA’s objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Camping, meeting new people, fun with friends — and more. It’s the adventure of a lifetime.

Camp Powahtan was a success

There were bundles of fun and knowledge at Camp Powahtan. There is going to be a lot of merit badges earned at the next Court Of Honor ceremony after summer break. Our scouts that have returned from camp is not just earning artistic pieces of sewn together jute, but also knowledge that may never be taught at school. Have a great summer.

Summer Camp is approaching really close

As the number of school days start counting down to zero, the closer Summer Camp is approaching. Be aware where the merit badges are taken at. If your classes are on the opposite side of the camp, it is best if you bring a bike. During the week, try planning of where, and when your classes take place. For those who have Bird Study, your classes will be offered at 7 a.m. based on interest. Climbing Merit Badges also offered 7 p.m.- dark. Evening programs and other merit badges are announced at camp. And not but at least, we hope to have a good week. Along with the planning also watch out for weather. And as before, be prepared.

Camp Powhatan Coming Soon ( and medical forms).

Summer Camp at Powhatan is just 2 weeks from tomorrow (Father’s Day too).

We still need medical forms and final payments from several of you. We will arrive early and stay late at the Court of Honor on Monday June 2 if any of you wish to bring forms, payments or both to Jeff McCreery. You CANNOT attend Summer Camp without a completed BSA med form. We must have these items as soon as possible.

This will be the agenda until August.

June/ July – Patrol Leader and Scout Master meeting to plan the next 12 months of outings and activities.
